About The Vertical Church Food Ministry

Read more about the food ministry by clicking the dropdown tabs below:

Our mission is to serve our community by providing nutritious food and compassionate support, ensuring that no one goes hungry. By partnering with other churches in North Georgia, we strive to nourish both body and spirit, singing the light of Jesus Christ and fostering a sense of hope and dignity for all.

Our goal is to be compelling, build community, and reduce food insecurities in our area. How do we do this? By gathering around The Table.

We have two areas that we want to focus our efforts to make an impact:
  1. Serve individuals with food insecurities (Going to apartment complexes, Partnering with other churches, etc.)
  2. Serve groups in the community including but not limited to fire departments, police and sheriff departments, hospital workers, school system staff, courthouse employees, park rangers, etc.

We need you! There will be several different ways to step into volunteering opportunities with the food ministry. They include cooking, serving, truck driving and set-up, food supply chain, and more! Right now, we have an email list of those who want to serve with the food ministry. When a new event or need arises, we send the need out to that list of interested people first. Then, if we still need more hands, we share the need with the church community.  To join that email list, please fill out the form below!

We welcome new ideas and opportunities for the food ministry here at Vertical! More opportunities will present themselves once we hear your ideas and continue to get out into the community.

Fire Station #3 Community Event

In July, the Table Food Ministry served our community at Fire Station #3 in Union County by serving over 100 meals to people in support of the Fire Station's open house. The food team did a fantastic job and it was a great time watching the firemen give demonstrations. Volunteers included (pictured left to right) Alexis Noe, Joe Piechocki, Sonny and Marlena Spaulding, Many Ann Gozik and Scott DeFilippis. Thanks to all for making this event happen!

97 Lunches to the UCHS Band

On July 23rd, The Table Food Ministry served 97 Lunches to the Union County High School Band at one of their practices. Lunch was Cuban sliders with a fruit cup and chips, and the team served all 97 meals in under 15 minutes! We have Amazing Volunteers at Vertical Church!
